Directions

The Road Network  is of good condition and is made up of 1st grade roads, 2nd grade roads and 3rd and 4th grade roads, with a large network of motorways connecting  major cities. Driving to and from the U.K  is possible along with all other E.U countries and with the Turkish and Greek borders 15km  away, this stop-over location is ideal for 1-2 nights stay with or without pets, as accomodation is available either with tent or with a room to let basis.

The International Train Station  is situated

in Svilengrad 10km away.


The Plovdiv-Svilengrad railway line represents the main

railway link between Bulgaria, Turkey and the Middle East.


Rail network

The two major train routes are Sofia - Varna (approx: 7-8 hours)

and Sofia - Burgas (duration: 6-7 hours). 


You can also travel both routes overnight. 


The main train station is the Central Station

('Tsentralna Gara') Sofia,

where most international trains depart and arrive. 


Sofia has direct international connections with Belgrade,

Svilengrad  is one of the most important

border towns in Bulgaria. It is situated in the

southern part of the country in close proximity

to the point where the boundaries of Bulgaria,

Turkey and Greece cross, 300 km from Sofia

and 150 km from Plovdiv, 30 km from Edirne

and 265 km from Istanbul. The international

roads and the railway line from Europe to the

Middle East and Asia pass through Svilengrad.

The two busy border crossings

Kapitan Andreevo – Kapikule and

Novo selo – Ormenion

are 15 km and 2 km from town, respectively.



The transfer from Sofia/airport to Svilengrad

takes about 4 hours , depending on the traffic

on some of the busiest Bulgarian highways.


It is approx 3 hours drive from Bourgas airport

and along with  Plovdiv Airport (PDV), with

it's cheap flights to and from the London

and/or Barcelona.
